Our Classical Approach

Teaching students to think critically, purse truth, and cultivate wisdom and virtue

What is a Classical Education?

Classical Christian education is a time-tested educational system which establishes a biblical worldview (called Paideia), cultivates virtue, trains students in reasoning through the seven liberal arts and Socratic discussion, and engages children through the historical Great Books.

By employing the principles of the seven liberal arts, children develop clear thinking and a masterful command of spoken and written language, logic, and thinking. A rich and nuanced command of language plays an important role in understanding God's Word, and in understanding our fellow man.

Through immersion in the study of history using stories, art, and original sources, students step outside their own times and places and consider the world from different perspectives.

The timeless ideas behind classical education's transformative power lies in one truth: Christ is Lord of all. What does that mean for how we live and think? What we value or love? What is the ultimate purpose of our lives?

What this means is that education is about soul formation, not just information and that is the heart of Classical Christian education.

A School Rooted in Tradition, Truth, and Excellence

We are striving to build a school that doesn't water down education or faith. A school that honors the wisdom of the past while preparing children for the future. This school won't chase modern trends but will instead form strong, capable young men and women grounded in truth. This school is built for families like yours.

We will be seeking accreditation from the Consortium of Classical Lutheran Education (CCLE). CCLE provides the "Marks of Lutheran Education" which outlines the essential characteristics of a classical Lutheran education. We have summarized them below, but encourage parents to review the full document here.

Tradition, Truth, and Excellence

A Set Apart Education

Real Learning not Screen Learning

Children need to build foundational skills such as handwriting, reading, and focus before being ready to safely and effectively engage with technology. Our classrooms will not use 1-1 devices or tablets for instruction, assignments, or activities. When developmentally appropriate, students will be taught to use technology with discernment, ensuring it serves them rather than shapes them

Time Outside

Grades K through 5 are guaranteed three recesses each day, totaling an hour outside. Time in God's creation is an intentional part of our model, strengthening both body and spirit while reinforcing the joy of childhood

Character Development

Students keep their spaces clean and are taught to take ownership of their school. They share in the work of maintaining their classrooms and caring for the school grounds. They learn that no task is beneath them and that service is the heart of leadership.

Enrichment and Field Trips

Beyond core subjects, students enjoy a rotation of enrichment lessons and field trips led by skilled guests and community partners. These experiences include gardening, animal care, sewing, and natural sciences, along with field trips to farms, museums, historical sites, and community organizations. These opportunities connect learning to life and open students' eyes to the wider world.

If you’ve been searching for something deeper—something with roots—this is the kind of school your family has been looking for.

Key Characteristics of a Classical Lutheran Education

Faith That Stands the Test of Time

No feel-good fluff, no watered-down theology. We teach historic, biblical Christianity—the faith of the early church, confessed and practiced for centuries.

Christ-Centered Mission

The school's mission is deeply rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, influencing all aspects of its educational endeavors.

A Rich and Meaningful Worship Life

Students participate in reverent, historic Christian worship, learning hymns and liturgy that connect them to generations of believers.

Education That Forms the Whole Person

We use the classical model of learning, which has trained the greatest minds in history to think critically, speak clearly, and pursue truth.

A Christian Worldview in Every Subject

Math, science, literature, and history aren't just neutral topics""they reveal God's design, order, and purpose in creation.

Latin as the Language of History and Precision

Mastering Latin strengthens thinking, unlocks Western civilization, and deepens students' connection to the great Christian tradition.

The Great Books and the Great Ideas

Our students don't just read modern textbooks; they engage with the foundational works of Western thought, learning from the wisdom of the past.

Strong, Disciplined Teachers

Our educators are serious about their faith, committed to their craft, and dedicated to forming strong, virtuous students.

Order, Structure, and Family Values

We believe in biblical order—clear roles, responsibility, and respect for authority—preparing students to be faithful leaders in their homes, churches, and communities.
